MISSION
Somerset Community Foundation helps Somerset achieve its potential by improving the quality of life for our community through improved programs, activities and resources.
HISTORY
In order to help create a healthy and vital community in which all people have the opportunity to enhance quality of life, local citizens established the Somerset Community Foundation in 2012.
The Somerset Community Foundation (SCF) is operated by a volunteer board of directors - community leaders who are your friends and neighbors! The foundation focuses its efforts on providing funding in the areas of education, human services, civic projects, youth and the environment - as well as fostering a town/region-wide culture of philanthropy.
IMPACT
The Somerset Community Foundation will continue work with the Rivers + Roads Initiative, the endowment campaign, and improving outreach efforts. Through the generosity of Somerset donors, the community has been impacted in numerous ways.
In 2015, the Somerset Community Foundation held the first annual Apple Splash ½ marathon and 5K races as a major fundraiser for the foundation.
Funding, leadership and support has been offered to organizations such as:
Somerset Community Food Pantry
Grace Place
The School Backpack Program
