FILLING THE VALLEY WITH MUSIC

Grant-making resources are available at St. Croix Valley Foundation thanks to donors who have partnered with the Foundation to establish philanthropic funds in support of programs throughout the region.* These funds allow St. Croix Valley Foundation to provides grants to school programs and nonprofit organizations each year.




The Music Education Grant Program was initiated by a donor (a former teacher) who established an endowment fund to forever help share the gift of music with children of all ages.

The Music Education Grant Program awarded nearly $34,000 this year. Funded projects include replacement and restoration of school band instruments, the addition of underrepresented women composers to music library resources, recording studio equipment, funding a guitar program for at-risk youth, a global music program and a drum circle project.


Area schools receiving these program funds include Cottage Grove and Woodbury Middle Schools, Ellsworth Middle School, Frederic School District, Lakes International Language Academy, North Branch Area Middle School, Osceola Intermediate School, Prescott High School, Renaissance Charter Academy, River Falls Public Montessori Elementary, Rocky Branch Elementary, Somerset Middle School, St. Croix Catholic School, St. Croix Central High School and St. Croix Falls Elementary.


Music Education Grant applications for the upcoming grant cycle will be due early October 2019. For more information.


*The service area of St. Croix Valley Foundation covers Washington and Chisago counties in Minnesota and Pierce, St. Croix, Polk and Burnett counties in Wisconsin.
