EXPLORE AND TAKE A LOAD OFF

When a project is so full of joy, youthful exuberance, outdoor beauty and community cooperation – it needs to be shared and experienced by as many people as possible.

Up and down the St. Croix Valley art benches are tucked into beautiful settings; wonderful finds on a regional scavenger hunt, pleasant surprises for tired bikers, joy-filled spaces for children to share with parents and worthy destinations for any visitor. Many benches are located in parks that are pleasant destinations in their own right, and the driving routes are mostly rural highways that criss-cross the valley.

The Art Bench Trail was conceived of and spearheaded by The Phipps Center for the Arts to encourage visitors and residents to explore the unique small towns of the St. Croix Valley. Each bench was created collaboratively, partnering youth, artists, businesses and community members to create one-of-a-kind works that explore the area’s nature, history and culture.

The St. Croix Valley Foundation is proud to have supported the project, along with the St. Croix National Scenic Riverway, the Kresge Foundation and numerous community businesses and volunteers.

Happy exploring!
