Meet Malcolm - a Bethany's Butterflies Scholarship Recipient

Last summer, Malcolm—a bright young man with a permanent disability—had the chance to be part of the Minnesota JCC Camp Butwin, where he explored new activities, made friends, and experienced the joy of simply being himself.

From swimming, reading, and animal activities—Malcolm thrived in an environment designed to celebrate his abilities, encourage growth, and create lasting memories with one-to-one support for an inclusive camp experience.

None of this would have been possible without the Bethany’s Butterflies Scholarship, established in 2016 in loving memory of Bethany. This scholarship helps provide students with an IEP or special needs with meaningful life experiences—like camp—that they may not otherwise have the chance to enjoy.

Through the Bethany’s Butterflies Scholarship, Bethany’s spirit shines on in every smile, every song, and every adventure.
