Dear Friends,
Across our six-county region, the increased federal immigration enforcement activity in the communities we serve has many of us asking hard questions about safety, belonging, and what comes next. While conditions vary from community to community, we know that many individuals, families, nonprofits, worksites, and places of worship in our region are being impacted.
In moments like this, we want our communities to know: you are not alone.
Our commitment as your community foundation is to walk alongside you, supporting trusted local partners, listening to those being affected, and helping create space for connection, understanding, and when needed, collective action.
We are actively listening to nonprofit partners, community leaders, and fellow funders to better understand how our region is being affected and where support may be most needed. For now, our focus is on learning, coordinating thoughtfully, and ensuring that any response we take is responsible, aligned with our mission, and centered on care, dignity, and community well-being.
The St. Croix Valley has always been shaped by connection as neighbors look out for one another across county lines, state borders, and differences. In moments like this, that spirit of care matters more than ever. To move forward together, we need to slow down, listen deeply, and respond to fear with compassion and presence.
We invite you to join us in choosing care over division, kindness over fear, and shared responsibility for one another’s well-being. Let’s work together to build a future rooted in partnership, collaboration, and trust—and a region full of communities where people feel safe, supported, and able to thrive.
Thank you for being part of this important work.
— Heather Logelin, President & CEO
