The St. Croix Valley Foundation’s Partners for the Future initiative is a $2 million dollar challenge in which SCVF will match – dollar for dollar – funds that participating nonprofits raise and invest in a permanent fund at the Foundation. The goal of this exciting initiative is to help nonprofit organizations identify new resources that, in the long term, will provide ongoing support to local organizations within the St. Croix Valley.

“Partners for the Future will be a tremendous resource for selected nonprofits,” noted David Griffith, SCVF President. “Permanent funds give nonprofit organizations a stable and growing source of income dedicated to their operations or specific programs. These funds are managed like an endowment – it gives an organization annual income yet it also preserves and grows principal. As a result, the organization benefits today and for generations to come.“

SCVF raised $1 million to offer matching grants for this purpose. Over the next three years nineteen nonprofit organizations will raise a total of $1 million dollars. Each organization’s board of directors has its own fundraising goal. The Foundation will provide training and coaching assistance to ensure each organization’s success.

	Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northwestern Wisconsin Creates and supports one-to-one mentoring relationships between carefully screened volunteers and children who need the friendship of a caring adult.
	Carpenter St. Croix Valley Nature Center Develops and enhances appreciation for the natural world through quality environmental education, conservation practices and outdoor experiences for visitors of all ages and capabilities.
	Courage St. Croix & Courage Forest Lake A rehabilitation and resource center that advances the lives of people experiencing barriers to health and independence.
	Family Resource Center St. Croix Valley Provides positive parenting education and family support serving families with children from birth to six years.
	FamilyMeans Provides an array of mental health and family counseling, Consumer Credit Counseling Service, caregiver support and youth and family development programs to help individuals and families thrive during each stage of life.
	HSI - Human Services, Inc. in Washington County Helps the most vulnerable residents challenged with aging, mental health, chemical health, and domestic or sexual abuse issues to overcome and prevent life impairments and develop individual potential.
	Hudson Health Foundation Supports Hudson Hospital's health care programs and other services which address the mind, body and spirit of patients and their families.
	Kinship of Polk County Helping young people succeed by establishing a relationship with a caring adult mentor.
	Lakes Area Youth Service Bureau Provides support and guidance to youth and their families through parenting, prevention, counseling, restorative justice and mentoring programs to ensure the success of youth.
	New Richmond Preservation Society Collects and preserves history of the New Richmond Area through a museum and restored buildings that showcase life from the mid 1800s forward.
	The Partnership Plan for Stillwater Area Schools Provides special funding and human resources for the students and staff to enrich and enhance the educational experience of students in all Stillwater Area Public Schools.
	The Phipps Center for the Arts Celebrates the creative spirit by offering exciting performances, outstanding exhibitions, and inspiring instruction in the performing and visual arts.
	Standing Cedars Community Land Conservancy Protects and restores field, forest, and natural habitats along the Lower St. Croix River.
	Turningpoint for Victims of Domestic and Sexual Violence Empowers those who have experienced domestic or sexual violence by providing them with the resources to achieve freedom from violence through community support and education.
	United Way St. Croix Valley Unites communities, focuses resources, and inspires people to measurably improve lives in Western Wisconsin.
	West CAP Takes action against poverty by developing the social and economic assets of low-income families and their communities and by working to create a more just and sustainable society.
	West Wisconsin Land Trust Helping western Wisconsin landowners, residents and communities achieve their conservation goals.
	Young Life in the St. Croix Valley Provides caring adults to meet the needs of traditional and at-risk youth, guiding them in personal faith formation to influence a lifetime of capable, competent, and ethical living.
	Youth Service Bureau Provides affordable, accessible and timely intervention alternatives for youth and families dealing with behavior and emotional issues.
